The Backup sum is the count of all of your backed up assets. Total is the amount of assets you have on your phone (in selected albums). So you just have 14 additional assets on your server that are not on your phone. Or am I missing something?

I think there are some duplicated assets that is in the black list, and is not accounted for.

Can you go into Settings > Local Storage and see how many count of duplicated assets is showing there?

Yes there are duplicated assets.

It would be less confusing if Backup and Total both include duplicated assets or neither of them include duplicated assets

Also facing this right now. 97 duplicates. For me it's likely the result of me deleting the asset locally not via cloud, so it stays on Immich server but is not present locally.

Could we get a reliable counter of "things that are on the device but not backed up yet"? I guess "remainder" should represent this number, but I've had at least two devices where backup went over total by like a thousand and it kept pumping out more and more photos, making it borderline impossible to guess when everything will be backed up
