Struggled for an hour trying to figure out why my ACF text fields weren't showing in the dropdown for mashups. Turns out, it only works with ACF map plugin. Could use a little extra direction on that page.

DevinWalker commented 9 years ago

@ifyouwillit did you create two plain text fields called "Lat" and "Long", for instance? And those were not showing up? You should be able to select any custom field. Not dependent on ACF/Pods/whathaveyou...

We'll definitely be improving this... we never want anyone to spend more than a few seconds trying to figure out how things work. But often we don't hit the mark first iteration so I thank you for your continued help with this!

ifyouwillit commented 9 years ago

That is correct. They didn't show up.

I'm wondering if this is still related to Transients. We struggled with that in the beginning, but maybe it's still a bit of an issue. @DevinWalker Thoughts on that?

kevinwhoffman commented 9 years ago

@mathetos I'm leaning towards transients being the issue as well. I'm able to select from all ACF fields and any other custom fields associated with the post.

DevinWalker commented 9 years ago

@ifyouwillit can you let me know which version you are using? This should be fixed as of the latest version - meaning cache clears when new fields are added so you never run into the issue of when you add a field it doesn't display.

@ifyouwillit and @kevinwhoffman Try using Pippin's Transient Manager to clear Transients AFTER you create your custom fields with ACF. If it populates in Maps Builder then without issue then we know with certainty it's a Transients issue.

I'll take a look. Probably next wk.
