change the date format #897

Hi, I'm using the News list plugin but I've noticed that the date of each post shows as month/day/year, and I would prefer it to be: day/month/year (or d-m-Y)

I have looked through all the plugin files for a place to alter this but had no luck. Does anyone know how I might change that please?
