The report makes sense. Because there are string at all.

Are there no more custome strings, or does that just mean they're not marked
yet for
translation ?
I just wanted to translate trunk, but I guess I can wait :-)

no strings are invented yet. All strings are debug messages and redirected to
the log
file.
There are some strings (5 or such) in the development tools, but I wonder if we
really need to translate them?
We will eventually have some strings for configurating the applet when the
feature is
implemented.
BTW: The trunk is experiencing random crashes after 1743.

I guess the 0.6-dom branch (aka 0.7 or 0.6.9) now can build the pot files.
There are only two translatable strings yet though.

Some strings are already labeled in 0.7-devel branch.
Not yet frozen.
lviggiani, we need to make an agreement on the string freezing at some time
after we
merge the 0.7-devel to trunk. (well, it might be a huge jargon for our little
project, but at least we'll natively have three languages.)

String Freeze is to freeze the strings that end users will see in the source
code.
Let me find an article about this topic. It is a prerequisition for translation.

Jump to string freeze.

We have some Ukrainian suggestions, but we need a reviewer.
Btw, did you commit the files as they were, or did you fill a file generated
against
the latest trunk with the work done ?
In other wordds, is the LP template up to date, and if not, how to keep it
updated?

I would like to help translate this applet in to Hungarian, and before I sent my
first file, I've checked everywhere else, and I could not find one. When I send
my
first file, few days later, I've noticed, that Lounchpad has a different
Hungarian
translation, not sent by me. I would correct that translation, since it has
some bug
in it, but I can't access, until I sign up. (My final doesn't, but if it is
asynchronous - Not appears in current version -, than it has no point to send
it time
to time here.)
It was not clear to me, which was the priority, since the tarball contains my
translation. However, now I think that its very important, to point this out,
also I
would like to cooperate with the person/people, but for me, sign up to
lounchpad is
the final step that I would like to take, and maybe neither that. Is there a
possible
compromise way, to warn the translators about my translate & help with that or
any
other way, that excludes sign up?
Original comment by jad...@gmail.com

I forgot to mention, that I'm working with the actual tarballs-pot file, thats
why it
is asynchronous. Where can I download the actual pot file, and how frequently,
if
this communication "channel" is okay for this?

The translation on Launchpad are now automatically pulled from svn, which means
we no
more have to manually update the templates. Before a release, we just have to
bulk
download the translations from LP and summit them in our SVN.
Launchpad will add the new strings by itself.

What's
the matter there? Any problems with parsing the Git repo? Anyway, I've attached
an
updated German translation, based on the current Git content.

What about to use the GNOME infrastructure (means: git.gnome.org) for
globalmenu?
Then the translations could be tracked in the Vertimus status pages, and a lot
of
experienced translators get access to it. And you don't have to annoy about the
peculiarities of Launchpad any longer.
