I installed Global Menu from PPA on November 21 on both a tower and laptop
running
Ubuntu Karmic. After installing the Global Menu worked fine, but FIREFOX and
SONGBIRD
(built from Firefox) failed to start. Thunderbird (only installed on the laptop)
would run.

Restarts of these computers did not fix the issue.

As of updates on the evening of 12/30/2009, all three mozilla products launch
correctly
and the applet seems to function correctly after one restart.

I don't know if this change is a product of Mozilla's updates or an Applet
update.
