Post-install, can't remove all references to globalmenu-gnome GTK module #586

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install globalmenu-gnome from source
2. Uninstall globalmenu-gnome (using `make uninstall`)

What is the expected output?
All references to globalmenu-gnome to disappear from my system

What do you see instead?
Every time I launch a GTK app, I get the message: "Gtk-Message: Failed to
load module "globalmenu-gnome": libglobalmenu-gnome.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory"

What version of the Global Menu are you using? On what operating system?
Was using Global Menu 0.7.2 on Fedora 11

What version of Vala are you using? (if your Global Menu is built from git)

Please provide any additional information below.

I was patient enough to grep the entire /etc dir for references to
"globalmenu", manually (and carefully) removed all references. After
removing all references, it has disappeared from gconf-editor, yet to no
avail, the message still appears.

I do have this problem too. I installed it using aptitude and then later purged
it.
Still have the error message every time I launch a GTK app. I am on Ubuntu 9.10
Karmic.
