Sometimes it doesn't notify new mail #212

Firefox 30 Ubuntu Linux 13.10 64 bits

Sometimes it doesn't detect new mail. The icon doesn't change and it doesn't alert.

Do you get any relevant error in the Console (Ctrl + Shift + J)?

Okay. I just checked the two extensions in a clean profile and they work fine. Can you confirm the problem on a clean profile https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

The problem persist: 20140703_22 18 42_01 I've tested with another similar extension: https://sites.google.com/site/sonthakit/gmailwatcher and Gmail Watcher works well but ignotifier beta (https://github.com/inbasic/ignotifier/tree/beta/src) and stable fails continuously.

You should test it in a clean profile. Maybe it is a conflict with another extension.

Based on the errors, seems like the notifier cannot change the tooltip text of the toolbar button. I made a custom version for you that prints the tooltip text in the console. Still I think this is a conflict with another extension. Can you try the notifier on a clean profile with no other extension installed? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

I tried the extension in a new profile with "The Fox, Only Better" add-on installed and they seem to work fine with each other. I suspect another extension causing this conflict.

Please try the notifier on a clean profile along with "The Fox, Only Better" add-on and see if you still have the issue.

I've tested the new stable version: 0.4.5 and same error.
