Hello, I have just understood the reason for my incomprehension which essentially comes from the formulation by negation and my lack of relevance in the observation. The wording: "When unchecked, Gmail™ Notifier checks either active window or all open windows for open instance of Gmail™ and switch to the tab when tab opening is requested.", should instead be: "When unchecked, Gmail™ Notifier checks either active window or all open windows for open instance of Gmail™ and switch to this tab when tab opening is requested." (This tab not the tab) To avoid the negative formula I propose: "When checked, Gmail™ Notifier checks either active window or all open windows for open instance of Gmail™ and don't switch to this tab when tab opening is requested. " I am content to be a little picky but having worked in after-sales service I have realized that if just one person shows a lack of understanding it is often due to a lack of relevance in the instructions for use. Regards
What I mean is:
When this option is unchecked, the notifier will search either the active window or all open windows for an existing Gmail™ tab and switch to it when a tab opening is requested.
switch to it when a tab opening is requested
Switch to the Gmail tab instead of opening a new tab.
I think this wording is clear:
When this option is unchecked, Gmail™ Notifier will first search the active window for an existing Gmail™ tab and switch to it. If not found, it will search other open windows before opening a new tab.
Hi
I just found some more errors that disrupt the translation of the English text by Transifex.
Indeed there are 4 unnecessary line breaks on the entries: "label_1": { "unknown": { "options_title": { "settings_open_title": {
On the other hand I found some formulations that seem to me to lack meaning or precision but not being English (I am French) I am aware that my mastery of the language of Shakespeare is perfectible. (especially for commas I tend to place them as the French language requires)
I hope that my proposals will catch your attention and I completely understand that for some I may be wrong. (you just have to leave me a comment and I will resume my PR by deleting the line(s) concerned)
For the change of the word uncheck to check I tested the effect and I think I am right.
Kind regards Dennis
