These were fewer changes than I thought; should be OK.

I agree on adding a short explanation (will do).

But it is not 'vegetation types'. Habitat types & ribs are not vegetation types by definition, but comprise much more (community, environment, landscape setting). Even though we mostly use only vegetation characteristics to delineate a type, we still should apply the concept in the broad sense.

Instead, explanation is (in this case, from vignette 010, but it's in several places):

types (habitat (sub)types and regionally important biotopes)
