Updated the templates-landing-pages repository readme.md to include image asset development standards:
We should use the same protocol when developing extension assets as well. This will help marketing quickly publish new assets.
Here is the photoshop template http://inboundsite.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/dl/thumbnail-template.psd
Font should be proxima nova http://inboundsite.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/dl/proximanova-sbold-webfont.ttf
Using Photoshop to just resize an image is a bit overkill. I prefer the simplicity of a windows application called paint.net. I've added subtitles and images correctly sized in all the new templates. I've also added the featured image for each of them but in this case I've used the 360x360 template thumbnail because the minimum suggested size for the featured image is 200x200. Next Monday I will fix all the other templates sales pages
Please look at the pricing for the Gourmet template. I've applied a 1.3 factor as we discussed, if this is ok we should follow the same pricing scheme for all the specialty templates
@atwellpub I will modify all the templates to follow your standard
Don't care how you create the images as long as they are the correct dimensions.
I have updated all the older template pages. They should look like http://inboundsite.wpengine.com/downloads/squared/
With an image of the most of the landing page (if not the whole thing) floated to the right at the top of the content
All of the thumbnails should be up to date as well except for the templates you added Giuilo.

@DavidWells Did you see the example I created on the skype message here?: http://inboundsite.wpengine.com/downloads/shift-landing-page-template/
I like the float, but I believe it is important to have a visible demo link. In this template there is no prompt that there is a demo page. The user has to discover that clicking the thumbnail takes them to the demonstration page which could mean lower conversions.
I added a demo link into the right float image caption and this is what it looks like: http://inboundsite.wpengine.com/downloads/gourmet-landing-page-template/
Now we have a single column example and a float example that links to the demo page.
@daprela @DavidWells What do you guys think?
Personally I prefer the single column because the image of the template is bigger but what about the standard 290x195? I'm starting to get a bit confused, also the image in the squared template page is 321x215, out of the standard size we've talked about. Is it that standard size important or not? I definitely agree that there must be a prompt to indicate that there is a demo page. I've added a text at the end of my descriptions but that is not visible enough
There will be a demo link controlled by the custom meta acf
I am playing around with where the link will render
Hyperlink the floated image to the demo page as well

I like the float, but I believe it is important to have a visible demo link. (In this template)[http://inboundsite.wpengine.com/downloads/squared/] there is no intuitive prompt that there is a demo page. The user has to discover that clicking the thumbnail takes them to the demonstration page which could mean lower conversions. Our demo pages are good sales assets and I believe every visitor should promptly know they exist. Is my attitude mistaken?
How do we handle the demo link in a way that satisfies the above if we go with the floated right image.
@daprela what do you think?

@daprela Our featured image should be 290 X 195.
The full width of the content column is about 645px so I figure if we go the 1 column route then the top area image should have a width of 645px and a variable height depending on what the image is.
The standards https://github.com/inboundnow/templates-landing-pages/blob/master/readme.md#image-asset-development are designed to the concepts mentioned above.
So the standard is about the featured image, not the post images. However, if I try to add a featured image 290x195 the system tells me that images less than 200px on either side are not picked up by sites like Facebook and the likes. Is that an important aspect?
Social media is a crap channel for sales. Ignore that

I thought the same...until one hour ago. There are just a few people that I listen to about internet marketing. Steve Clayton is one of them. I haven't had much time to follow the evolution of social media marketing in the last year, so this video has been a bit of a surprise http://the12daygiveaway.com/day-9-if-i-had-to-start-over/
For now just skip the entire process of adding things to the marketplace.
We need to keep building more and more templates and don't need to concern ourselves with adding them to the site.
Just focus on building the templates in trello

Roger :-)
@daprela @atwellpub
When adding products make sure to fill in the sub title. This is the preview text on the market page as well.
Also make sure the image dimensions are correct or it will look bad. The demensions need to be thumbnail-290x195.
*We cannot rely on wordpress to automatically do this because it will distort the image or incorrectly crop them *
Please take a moment to just start with the correct dimensions like http://inboundsite.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/edd/2014/09/thumbnail-290x195.png
Here is how to resize an image if you are not aware: http://www.screencast.com/t/Ak794bPTwB
