ZIP file that decompresses fine with Stuffit Expander doesn't with The Unarchiver #56

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Decompress Gothic.zip (attached) with Stuffit Expander and The Unarchiver
2. Notice how ReadMe.txt is corrupted for The Unarchiver but not for Stuffit

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected files that aren't corrupted, instead of corrupted files.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.5 on 10.4.8

Please provide any additional information below.

The file is not corrupted, it is merely not marked as the right filetype. This
file
seems to be using some non-standard extension of the Zip format, most likely
created
by StuffIt. I'll have to see if I can figure out how it works.

Actually, it seems the file is in macbinary format, and this is actually a
duplicate
of bug 48.

This is interesting. Where did 'Gothic.zip' originally come from? Do you know
what
program was used to create it?
(paracelsus, I can get some test cases to you sometime this weekend)
