There should be a content authoring overview guide to help new users understand the CMS and the authoring workflow. This guide can cover:

logging in
navigating the CMS interface
authoring workflow at a high level (i.e. create > save as draft > publish > wait for automation to deploy > repeat)
links to individual guides for creating projects, news, and resources (see #707 ).
