It would be nice to have a clearer explanation (somewhere!) to how the Indieweb and WICG specs relate, especially when the WICG spec has an existing in-browser implementation shipping today. At first glance, it appears they are attempting to tackle the same problem?

IIRC Fragmentions predate the WICG proposal by several years, and it was one of the pieces of prior art that the WICG folks looked at when designing their feature.
