I should have a bunch of IR stuff (not sure if these are recievers, trasmitters, transceivers or whatever) lying around somewhere, we could test those out sometime.

If you find some good IR transmitters that would be super as I couldn't find any at my place...

What is the current status of IR sensors and transmitters today?

Need to check that. Our best shot was detected from ~3 meters so the setup is currently unusable.

I tried wiring some amplifiers but except for a couple of burnt IR LEDs I couldn't achieve nothing.
