No such limitation exists, it would be absurd. Take a look at the PHP error log
to see what's the error and you'll find the reason, otherwise this cannot be
resolved. Probably configuration typo etc

Issue exists. I tried doing a fresh installation as well.
It can show only 35 files and if number of file increases to even 36,
accessing the folder will give "Request Failed" message and on removing any
one of the file from back end again all 35 files are visible.

Of course it's possible there is issue, but I doubt it. If such error was
there, I think I would have reports from all users, so far I haven't got any.
But I'm saying again, GET THE PHP ERROR LOG. This cannot be solved without
knowing the error. The "request failed" is nothing more than indicator for the
admin to take a look at the logs.

I've updated the new issue instructions, and I will be closing all issues that
do not have php error logs. I'll re-open it if logs are provided.
