Did you was able to compile to use https://github.com/KrabbyPatty/rtl819x-toolchain/blob/master/toolchain/rsdk-1.5.5-5281-EB-2.6.30-0.9.30.3-110714/RELEASE.NOTE RSD to cross compile ?

Check the toolchain_snapshot branch of this repository. I built that on Debian 8.4. Other than the host compiler tools, this should work.
