use VERSION macros from mozilla-config.h #36

They added these macros some time ago; this means that we can get rid of the xpcom_abi hack.

I was being stupid after not having looked at the code for a while; we already use mozilla-config.h, xpcom_abi is needed to get the platform string which is still not in mozilla-config.h
