If you are using collectd, you need to provide a types.db file. I do not know what a suitable default would be.

Been needing to make a custom container image based on this one but also running some apk add collectd

Unbelievable that such things are still not fixed, this development team at influx is really low quality. I can remember reporting something that something on the linux console was not working and this developer replied that it was working on his macos development environment. As if there is anyone in the world hosting influx on macos. I can't believe they can get funding for this.
