5.4.5 - Illumination Adjustment Factor

**Explanation of issue:

The ACM prescribes an Illumination Setpoint Adjustment Factor for
Illumination Reference Points (control points) controlling luminaires
located in Primary Sidelit Daylit area and Secondary Sidelit Daylit
Area.

However in cases wherein a space contains both Skylit Daylit area and
Sidelit Daylit Area, the control point prioritization scheme outlined
in 'Reference Position for Illuminance Calculations' results in a
configuration where the lighting in the Primary Sidelit Daylit Area
is controlled by the control point in the Skylit Daylit Area. In
this case how we apply the Illumination Adjustment Factor, there is
no control point to apply it to.

**Proposed resolution:

Please provide guidance on applying Illumination Adjustment Factors to
control points controling luminaires in both Skylit Daylit Areas and
Primary Sidelit Daylit Areas.

**Please provide any additional information below.

I think for simplicity, if there is a skylight and if the Reference Position #1
is under a skylight, make the adjustment factor 1 (not adjustment). The
rationale is that the primary lux isn't adjusted that much in Mudit's model
(either 1 or 1.5), and it's a neutral input (baseline same as proposed).

To take a weighted average would be unnecessarily complex, and it would be
difficult to determine what basis to use for a weighting.

I think the bigger issue is modeling the primary sidelit DL controlled wattage
under the skylights for energy savings estimation due to the two reference
point limit.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION: If the Reference Position #1 is under the skylight, the
Illumination Adjustment Factor shall be 1.

NOTE!!! I will be emailing a marked up response to Lukas's PDF comments later
today or tomorrow at the latest. It might be helpful to read the whole section
at once.
