5.7.5.2 Restrict use of User Performance Data for large DX equipment #70

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What NACM Section(s) are relevant to this issue?

5.7.5.2

Explanation of issue:

Yanda of HMG is suggesting that we not allow user entry of performance data for
large DX equipment. He recommends having the manufacturer work with the
software vendor to provide performance curves for individual equipment.

Proposed resolution:

It could be good to accept his change - it would simplify the ACM. However, it
would place more burden on the software vendors to incorporate performance
curves for individual equipment.

Please provide any additional information below.

Taylor Engineering also agrees with restricting user entry of data for large DX
equipment, but Martha Brook wishes to keep this option open.

No change required for now.

Reopening this as "Discussion" - Roger wishes to not allow this in the ACM (and
I agree with that approach), but it is currently in place, and Martha Brook
wants this option. Recommend having a brief discussion with Martha about it
before removing it.

The resolution is to eliminate user entry of performance curves for large DX
equipment (>135,000 Btu/h nominal capacity). For units with capacity >65 kBtu/h
and <135 kBtu/h, the ACM compliance software vendor may work with manufacturers
to develop performance curves that are applicable for specific equipment.

See attached.
