This does a bunch of prep work for the 2.4.0 release, see also ing-bank/scruid#97.

update dependency versions
- scalatest came with a bunch of deprecations, these have been resolved
fix unused imports
fix chatty logger
add installation instructions to readme
copy license header into source files that didn't have one
