ADW.Launcher preventing Samsung Galaxy S from connecting to Samsung Kies #206

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.install ADW.Launcher on Samsung galaxy s Android 2.1
2.connect to computer through USB and select "Samsung Kies" on the phone when
usb connection menu appears
3.At this point the computer should recognize the phone, but it doesn't see it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expectation for the PC to recognize the phone in "Samsung Kies" mode and the
Samsung Kies software to see it.
For reference Samsung Galaxy S USB modes include:
A)Samsung kies (not working)
B)Internet sharing (not tested)
C)Mass storage (working)
D)Media Player (not tested)

What version of the product are you using? On what phone? What Android
version?
Android 2.1
Samsung Galaxy S (I believe its Vibrant; from Bell Canada)

Please provide any additional information below.
Uninstalling ADW or switching back to default Samsung luncher fixes the issue.
The Phone application that manages the connection to "Samsung Kies" is called
"MTP Application"; this application is lunched once the "Samsung Kies" is
elected in USB menu on the phone

1)Switching Back to default Samsung application was the issue. This was
preventing (rather hanging up Samsung Skies, the program synchronises with
PC)Samsung Skies to find the Galaxy S.
2)MTP action could not be started and always returned with error message saying
only possible when the it is idle.
3)Programs like Advance Task Killer,Task Manager or TaskKiller could not stop
ADW.
4)Had to uncheck Default in ADW Settings, and could returned to Default Galaxy
S screen and MTP working.
5)However, observed ADW is missing from Application list.
