Can I ask a possibly stupid question, why is Inky it's own software and not simply an extension inside of VS Code?

  1. VS Code didn't exist when Inky was first created
  2. Having a self contained and focussed tool is more friendly for writers who don't have any other coding experience

But I'd love a VS Code extension myself too, and that would actually be my preferred environment if it ever happened!
