When I open inky, it always starts with a demo script. I then have to go to file > open to open my file. This is usually fine, but ink always opens my file in a new window, meaning every single time I use ink, it opens this pointless extra window.
Most programs don't start a new window when you do file > open, they just open it in the current one (and ask if you want to save if you have unsaved changes). At the very least, it could avoid opening a new window when you have the unchanged demo script still open.
