Who will handle programming for the layout (through Python) vs. programming for the back end? #1

After some investigation, the Visual Design team has determined that the front end user interface is created using Python. So the question is, should we just produce a design and let the Codebase team handle implementation? Or should we split up coding duties? Please use this issue to weigh in and discuss this issue!

If we code separately, it is possible that when we try to integrate or combine our codes together, we may run into more problems.

True.

If everyone is diligent about creating pull requests and committing often the code team should be able to put together the back end while providing a place for the visual design team to experiment and develop the user experience at the same time.

That's my feeling, too. I feel like if we keep in touch with each other regularly (with commits, on Slack, in class, etc.) we should be able to detect and avoid any possible issues with making the two halves work together.

Where does this issue stand right now? Is the codebase team going to be programming the interface? I seem to recall overhearing talk of QT today in class. @inls718/codebase @inls718/visual-design-layout
