I totally agree that Universal design and accessibility is very important and we should always have it in mind. However I am uncertain as to whether this applies to advertisements. One could argue that from the point of view of a site owner the adverts are critical, however from an end user perspective it could be different. Would it make sense to put something about accessibility under the tip section of the specification?
During the talks last week the issue of universal design was brought up. ITC solutions created after 01.07.2014 (source: http://uu.difi.no) must adhere to regulation for universal design of ITC solutions.
One question is if ads are covered by this regulation considering the following statement from §14:
Regardless, I think it would be great it we encouraged universal design in ads and stated so in the specification. This means reaching almost all A and AA level requirements in WCAG 2.0. Abridged version found at http://uu.difi.no/verktoy/sjekkliste/wcag-20-disse-kravene-gjelder
Any thoughts?
