Enter button on droid 2 no longer functions properly in nano #436

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect to shell
2. Open any file in nano and edit
3. Try to close and when asked to save hit enter..which does nothing

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the enter button to behave as it previously did.

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?
Lates git apk on this site

What type of system are you trying to connect to?
Ubuntu and arch linux servers.

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
and any other relevant information on the host?
echo $TERM
screen
Same behavior outside screen.........
uname -a
Linux Arch 2.6.37-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Feb 25 07:53:43 CET 2011 x86_64 AMD
Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

Please provide any additional information below.
Using latest git apk I'm psyched that the tab key is working. Also using enter
outside nano seems to work ok as I'm able to type commands and hit enter to
execute them...and I'm not familiar enough with this stuff to dig deeper myself.

Subject: connectbot enter woes

Hi,

I have a Motorola Flipout[1] and have been using ConnectBot for a while,
but recently decided to bump up to the dev version (in hunt for shiny
features and such).

I am also suffering the problem detailed in bug #436[2], but I went out
and have pinned it down to commits aa3e897a...b298f93d (just cycled
through the git dev releases you knocked out until the problem
disappeared).

I'm pretty sure commit 8ac74bbf is where it all went wrong (hence why I
am emailing you), but have not the motivation to install all the Android
SDK malarkey[3] as I'm expecting a whole bunch of nasty IDE cruft being
required :) Of course I am happy to be proved wrong though...

Any chance I can have my enter key back? ;) It makes using irssi and
nano impossible (although strangely mcabber, mutt and tin work fine).

If course, I'm happy to guinea-pig changes and what-not for you.

Cheers

Just got a Motorola Photon Q, really had using connectbot in mind, but gee
whiz, if the Enter key doesn't work in nano! Is this really just "Medium"
priority? You really need a working enter key to Get Stuff Done, right? :)

I have long switched to Irssi Connectbot - and I think they fixed it there.
Have a try.

Thanks, Nagel! It works like a charm! Uninstalled connectbot. Cheers!
