It seems since this version, AMD will not provide a .tar.xz file. Instead, they only provide deb or rpm package. They first provided an installer package, let's say amdgpu-install_21.40.1.40501-1_all.deb, then users should use the script in it to install the driver.

Do you have time and interest to modify the ebuild file to make it works again?

I'm sorry, I was already trying to do it, but in the end I had to change my video card for an nvidia, because the DaVinci Resolve Studio software did not work for me with AMD :-( When I have a card again, I will try again

AMD has changed many things if it was not a simple task.
