How to apply or update patches

Description

I see there is an updated patch in the repository,how do i patch this? Is it automatic through official revanced manager or do i need to patch manually with every release? Please help Screenshot_20230325-231821_GitHub

You have to re-patch with every release. You would have to download the recommended apk from apkmirror, then patch it using the ReVanced Manager. If you're having doubts in any of the processes, there are guides available online which you can follow while doing so.

Thanks for your reply, So if i re patch with every new apk i will lose my custom settings right? Also isn't it possible that it can be made to auto update using revanced manager similar to the old vanced? I mean they are working on it? Hopefully

By custom settings you mean the ReVanced Extended settings, then no. As long as you're updating over the existing version none of the settings you've changed will be gone. And in case you're to do a fresh install there's an option to import/export your RVX settings which you can utilise when necessary.

No, ReVanced or RVX doesn't provide apk as that's the reason why Vanced got taken down. So you'll have to download and patch everytime whenever there's a new release or you can just use the existing version till you're facing any issues.

Try going through this link and this link. I don't know whether they're up-to-date but it'll clarify most of the common doubts people might have.

The RVX settings backup is present within the YouTube app ReVanced extended settings

Yes, I think. If you have the manager installed and the recommended apk downloaded then you don't need to download any json file for patching as long as you have an internet connection.

The patches are selected by the user. Choose the patches you require and patch the YouTube app with it and you'll have the patched options within the YouTube app.
