@dnadales, nice work there. However, after quickly reviewing this version of the formal specification draft (current master), I believe following should be added to the Main differences w.r.t. our update mechanism section:

Only a XTZ roll has a vote (currently 8k XTZ), we don't have this limitation
Baker (stake-pool in non-XTZ specific terminology) has voting rights, amount of votes he has is a sum of own and delegated stake / 8k rounded down to nearest integer; stakeholder himself can't vote, nor counter bakers vote or lack of such
Research is currently being done as to if and how could a stake-delegate to a baker counter bakers vote; this is a desirable property to have if stake-owners will be able in general to delegate their governance rights to a 3rd party incl. stake pools
