It seems to take a long time to evaluate components.

we need some benchmarking of time and space usage.
especially memory usage because that is a risk for large projects deployed on large nixops networks.

@cleverca22 I think we did discuss some of this at some point. Especially with respect to caching bindings. I never really got that to work sufficiently (which I'd blame on my inability). If you think you could take a stab at that, that might be great! I seem to remember you sped up snack by a few order of magnitude.
