csv download for Nami #346

NogginNog commented 2 years ago

Hi I need to download a csv file of my Nami Trans History to Koinly but cannot find a facility on Nami to do this. I do not really want to plow through each transaction so is there anyway of doing this please. Yoroi and Exodus can do this so a shame if not available on Nami.

HeptaSean commented 2 years ago

You could restore/import your wallet into Yoroi with its seed phrase and use their CSV export.

If you want to continue using Nami, don't do any transactions in Yoroi, though, since they do not work well together.

Many thanks for the info. Once I obtain the csv can I export Nami from Yori again?

You can delete the wallet from Yoroi if you don't need or want it there, anymore. Just always be sure that your seed phrase is safe and secure, so that you can restore/import in a wallet app of your choice.

It's not really that you need to export anything. Wallet apps like Yoroi and Nami are just interfaces to the blockchain.

It is like you are logged into some website (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) with two different browsers. You can leave both logged in or you can log one out again and use the other one as your main browser for using this site. Totally your choice.

Just one more thing please. The trans history shows IN, OUT and SELF. What does SELF refer to please?

NogginNog commented 2 years ago

Hi just one other thing please.

My transaction history shows IN, OUT and SELF after my transactions.

What is the relevance of SELF please?

Thanks

SELF are tramsactions that go from and to your wallet at the same time.

For example, if you delegate to a stake pool, register for a Catalyst, or move your funds to the address, where Nami can see it, then no addresses outside your own wallet are involved and the transaction is classified as SELF.

A transaction cancelling an order on SundaeSwap is also considered SELF, as far as I have seen that in my own wallet, although it has an input outside the wallet – the SundaeSwap contract. So, I guess the logic is: If all outputs and at least one input is from the wallet, the transaction is SELF.

Normally, when you receive something, all inputs are foreign, and some outputs may also, but do not have to be (change going back to the senders wallet, an exchange sending to a lot of customers in one transaction), but at least one output is in your wallet or the transaction would have nothing to do with you. So, that's IN.

When you send something, all inputs belong to you, but at least one output is in another wallet. That's OUT.

Fantastic! Thanks. Been bugging me for weeks. I think it is as you say cancelled SundaeSwap transactions in my case also.

Hopefully Koinly will know how to treat these.

Thanks for your time and patience in putting these responses together for me, much appreciated.

I am passing the info onto others in my group who will also need these matters explained.

Take care and keep up the good work

🤗
