I would not make native availability a must.
I'm not part of this project, but out of all the options currently in "Applications" column, only Fusion360 isn't natively available on Linux (treating browser as native). Every other option listed (and some that aren't, eg. CadQuery) is, and runs on Linux at least as well as anywhere else.
Through numerous hacks on wine, I got to the point where f360 would open, but ran very slowly, and trying to create anything wasn't viable because of rendering problems, eg. half the window turning black, or 3d objects becoming invisible randomly when rotating the model. By choosing it you would be, essentially, excluding linux users from collaboration on the 3d/mechanical design.
MUST
that the solution is available and native in Windows, Linux and MacOS.MUST
that the solution are guaranteed to be free and accessible forever.PREFERABLE
that the solution is open source, to align with Input Labs philosophy.MUST
that we are in possession of the source files, and these are not locked into the cloud (aka someone else computer).
