When displaying long words (yeah, this may be because I'm German), gcalcli just cuts off the word where it hits the cell boundary. There is, however, a python package for hyphenation (https://code.google.com/p/pyhyphen/) that could easily be used to get a nicer behaviour (there would have to be a language setting, of course).
