Any news on this? it has been fixed in gt ;)

There hasn't been any work on this. At J&J we are going to production using an RTF export method that goes through huxtable, at least in the short term.

I'm hoping that will be able to be generalized and donated for incorporation into formatters but the first stage will be it being open source but separate, and at least somewhat specific to the aesthetics called for by J&J table shell specs.
