Enable snapshot testing (and fix potential errors) #253

For some reason right now snapshot tests are skipped:

I was not able to quickly find the root cause of this. Please make an analysis and change accordingly to enable tests. Most likely you will encounter errors. Please work with SME team to consult whether these are correct.
