If you want an example we run some of our workflow workloads on EC2 via terraform provisssioning in AI-lab-recipes (see example here. This workflow uses a github runner to clones down our terraform testing module in the containers org (https://github.com/containers/terraform-test-environment-module) and provision our ec2 instance, before running our testing playbook. Its not exactly the same but pretty similar, feel free to loop me in if you want help driving this.
