9 months ago Hardware failure is a real possibility here. A few things to investigate:
- on that computer, is it occurring on one particular file, or multiple files?
- how reproducible is the crash when processing the same file on the same drive? Does it occur 100% of the time or less?
- is it occurring always at the same spot on a given file?
- is it reproducible if you process on a different physical drive? an HDD? an SSD?
- is RAM ECC or non-ECC?
- are you able to replace the RAM modules with new ones?
- probably overkill but: can you replace the CPU?
We get this error on one of the IBL pre-processing servers, but this is not reproducible on other computers. However it is worth gathering some information and understanding about why this happens.
