[WIP] Moving plotting panel out into own class #53

I am still working on this, but should make it easier to keep track of what's going on and test the plotting dashboard.

@jsignell What's the state here? Is this still worth pursuing?

Sorry, dropped the ball on this one. AFAICT it was mostly working, but it is a refactor, so it is entirely up to you and other maintainers to decide whether the work in this PR is clearer than the original. The tests never passed, so I imagine there is still a fair bit of work.
