SlideShare provides its own oembed API end point at

http://www.slideshare.net/api/oembed/1

patch is attached.

Looks to me like this is solved in 1.1.0 RC but it's using the old API - 
current version is now 2 which makes the url:

http://www.slideshare.net/api/oembed/2

That's right. The new version gives new iFrame embed code while the previous 
version exposed old flash embed code. We should change it to use the new API 
version.
