The word bias shows up in several places (avoiding algorithmic bias among them), but I find that people often use that word (a) without knowing exactly what they mean by it, or (b) in ways that are not completely consistent with how others use the term. Furthermore, the "biased" gets used in everyday parlance to mean something more like "prejudiced".
So the question: Should we explicitly address this somewhere?
