Notifications don't use slack handles for mentions #1867

Describe the bug I can't get GitHub to use slack handles (i.e. @Alex Cook) instead of the Github handle (@Alex-cook-finres). I followed the startup guide to sign in and get the response: Screenshot 2024-03-22 at 15 25 56

However, all future mentions continue to use [@alex-cook-finres]. Screenshot 2024-03-22 at 15 26 11

This is problematic because it means that notifications in slack don't take mentions into account.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Set up GitHub integration with slack.
  2. Log in using /github signin
  3. Subscribe to a repository
  4. Do something that triggers a message.

Expected behavior Use of slack's handle for notifications rather than the GitHub handle.
