GVT-g doesn't know details of guest OS, the underlying hypervisor MPT services do :) Currently XenGT is feature complete, while KVMGT still needs to adding Windows guest support.
In case Windows guests are not supported yet in qemu-KVMGT, what do you think when is that feature available?
Ha, I should not commit anything here :) But hey, if we gonna be lucky, we can carefully expect a draft version by Q4 this year:)
When will the GVT-g host-functionality be merged into the mainline kernel? We are working on this.
When will GVT-g be in qemu mainline? Ditto
A VERY interesting project - Thank you very much! you're welcome, thanks for your interest.
@jikesong What is status on this now?
And when do you release it, with video acceleration and all :)
Thanks for reminding, see below :)
Hi,
does GVT-g and qemu-KVMGT work with Windows 7/8/8.1 guests?
Here I read that it is at least possible to run a Linux-Host/Linux-Guest setup. (https://github.com/01org/KVMGT-qemu/blob/master/README.kvmgt)
And here I found out that at least XenGT supports Windows guests provided one installs an Intel driver >= 15.36.3960 in the guest. (Section 3.6.4 at https://github.com/01org/XenGT-Preview-kernel/blob/master/XenGT_Setup_Guide.pdf)
