Hi @mmol93 ,seems you did not enable VT in bios nor disable Hyper-V. So please try to enable VT in BIOS then disable Hyper-V via 'bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off' in the windows terminal with admin privilege . Then reboot you PC for trying again.
I have same issue, but it was Guest unoccupied, No 1 guest

Hi @LuSuAllen ,could you raise a new issue about what you met? Better to provide more details info about your PC/SW configuration and steps.
HyperV is enabled on your device. You need to disable it from Windows features. Since HyperV is enabled, the checktool
/installer cannot detect/use VMX/EPT as HyperV has exclusive access to those features
Version: 7.6.5 Output folder: C:\Program Files\Intel\HAXM Extract: checktool.exe... 100% Execute: C:\Program Files\Intel\HAXM\checktool.exe --verbose CPU vendor GenuineIntel Intel64 supported Yes VMX supported Yes VMX enabled - No EPT supported Yes NX supported Yes NX enabled Yes Hyper-V disabled Yes OS version Windows 10.0.14393 OS architecture x86_64 Guest unoccupied Yes. 0 guest(s) The system requirements are not satisfied.
I am having the same error. I am new to android development and need to match the requirements to install HAXM. I don't know where is the problem. Shall VMX enabled be yes? If so, how do I enable it? If not, what is the problem?
Thanks for your questions. This wiki page may help you to resolve installation issues.
My issue is resolved. I just had to enable virtualization in my BIOS.

Good to know:)

Thanks @wayne-ma it helped!!

I can't install HAXM from android studio. As long I go through with the error I find this Guest unoccupied - No. 1 guest(s). How do I solve this problem?
Thanks for your report. In this case, there should already be an Android Emulator running on your host. You should terminate the emulator process first. You can refer to the wiki page for more details. Thanks.

Similar issue. Virtualization is enabled in BIOS.
I'm running Win 10 Home though, so started to wonder if it's just not possible to install HAXM on home version of windows. WSL2 Linux seems to work fine, so didn't think home version lacks all virtualization support.
@AndymcCone, thanks for your report. Could you try to run below command in an elevated Command Prompt to disable Hyper-V and disable WSL2 in Windows Features? Then reboot Windows to reinstall HAXM.
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off
Hey, thanks for you reply. I'll try that when I get back home. Wasn't sure it was even possible to activate Hyper-V in Windows 10 Home -version.

i keep having these errors on windows 10 home. i have enabled virtualization from bios settings and ran the command "bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off" it ran successfully, i reran the installer and i still get the error
I have the same problem as reported by @ndukachukz, please check the log file below:
Output folder: C:\Program Files\Intel\HAXM Extract: checktool.exe... 100% Execute: C:\Program Files\Intel\HAXM\checktool.exe --verbose CPU vendor GenuineIntel Intel64 supported Yes VMX supported - No VMX enabled - No EPT supported - No NX supported Yes NX enabled Yes Hyper-V disabled - No OS version Windows 10.0.19042 OS architecture x86_64 Guest unoccupied * Yes. 0 guest(s) The system requirements are not satisfied.
In spite of being able to run the Android Emulator, it seems haxm is not installed on my machine, even though virtualization is supported and enabled (made sure to check the BIOS), also tried to run "sc query intelhaxm" but got the following response:
**[SC] EnumQueryServicesStatus:OpenService FAILED 1060:
The specified service does not exist as an installed service.**
Besides Hyper-V is disabled. If anyone could please shed a light on this problem I'd be eternally grateful.
Thanks for your report. It seems that you have to disable Hyper-V according to this wiki page. Could you please try again and provide your latest logs? Thanks.
There is a feature called "core isolation" in Windows and it uses virtualization. Turning it off may help. This should be probably added to the wiki page.

@LogendherDev , could you check if vt-d was enabled in your BIOS? And may I know your CPU type?
I have same issue, but it was Guest unoccupied, No 1 guest
I've encountered the situation same as you,
Then i search it in google chrome browser and found this luckily
I check my computer, the Vmware station pro 16 has been installed, but i've not run it. I don't konw how to close it completely. solve: restart your PC, if you are still unable to install the haxm successfully enter the Safe Mode of your PC, then click it to install

Great tips. Yes, the guest/vm should be stopped first when you install/uninstall HAXM.

Worked for Windows 10 Home with a Dell Bios.
Had Virtualization Technology and VT for Directed I/O enabled in Bios since the beginning. Uninstalled Docker for Windows (was just messing with it anyways). Disabled WSL (was using wsl2, didn't delete any distros).
Tried disabling Hyper-V in "Turn Windows features on or off" but could only find Windows Hypervisor Platform unchecked by default (found out Hyper-V is not in Windows Features because I am using Windows 10 Home).
Finally installed HAXM with 'bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off' (which was the first solution here and skipped accidentally, check wayne-ma comment, should've done that in the beginning instead of turning off and on Virtualization Technology, VT for Directed I/O, and Windows Hypervisor Platform, and seeing which combination works).
It's working with Virtualization Technology and VT for Directed I/O enabled in Bios, Windows Hypervisor Platform disabled in "Turn Windows features on or off", command 'bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off' executed in cmd, Docker for Windows uninstalled and WSL disabled (these last two should be optional but should be done in case it doesn't work, or at least disabling their services for 0 guests, the same goes for other programs that use virtualization such as Vmware station, check elan-L comment).
Now I can finally run Intel HAXM on Android Studio, hope this helps
Hyper-v was already "unchecked" in my windows features, but I "checked", then rebooted, then set it to "unchecked" again. Then I rebooted and changed it from the bios to Intel Virtualization Technology "Disable", restarted it, and changed it back to Intel Virtualization Technology "Enable". I tried to reinstall HAXM with the Android SDK tool and it worked. I guess my Windows was stuck. I don't know why but this method worked for me.
