a Dell XPS 13 9315 owner here, shipped with Ubuntu 20.04 pre-installed.
My IPU6 camera stopped working on Ubuntu 20.04 last month, I tried to find a way to make it work, but nothing. Few days ago, the webcam IR emitters turned on by themselves, and now they are on and steady.
I have updated to Ubuntu 22.04 (Kernel 6.1.0-1033-oem, the 6.5.x proposed during the update does not allow to use the audio and the bluetooth, so I downgraded to an older kernel that allows to use everything).
I followed your guide to install the drivers through dkms, but still nothing. I tried to use
I contacted also Dell support, the only thing they want to do is to physically substitute the screen. I would like to avoid this and make the camera work, or at least to find a way to turn off those IR emitters (see the attached image), that are doing nothing but heating the upper part of the screen.
Dear all,
a Dell XPS 13 9315 owner here, shipped with Ubuntu 20.04 pre-installed.
I tried to use
gst-launch-1.0 icamerasrc buffer-count=7 device-name=ov01a10-uf ! video/x-raw,format=YUY2,width=1280,height=720 ! v4l2sink device=/dev/video0
but it doesn't work too.
I contacted also Dell support, the only thing they want to do is to physically substitute the screen. I would like to avoid this and make the camera work, or at least to find a way to turn off those IR emitters (see the attached image), that are doing nothing but heating the upper part of the screen.
Could anyone please help me?
Thank you in advance.
