Here's my pet theory:
Backporting the 10nm architecture on 14nm by design having less transistors for the same feature set imply to make cuts. Dropping SGX support might have saved a few transistors.
If that is the real reason, then please publicize that SGX support will come back on 10nm Intel cpus.
It's sad to make the x86 platform less expressive/powerful/secure
