Revert some install changes that broke basic install. #541

Hi Yaguang. This change set reverts some install.sh changes (ubuntu14) that broke basic installation for reasons that are not clear to me yet. I made these changes a week ago and when I tried to install on my VM cluster, it failed in several ways related to the bash eval command. I just reverted the code that implemented the eval stuff. I've tested this code on my VM cluster and it installs fine, though i've noticed that there is still a problem with create_cluster. I'll continue to work on that and try to get it working (not related to my changes, from what I can tell).
