Not sure if this is the optimal issue for this idea but one thing I notice from our G+ Hangouts @balupton is that your voice comes across like a second or so later.
@mikeumus Comes later than his video you mean? That may have something to do with his mic, not sure, because then it goes through an extra layer before Google Hangouts. But if there is it's probably negligible.
i've found both the audio and video to be in sync, but late. this is noticeable when we both start talking at the same time and it takes a while before either of us hear each other. i'm not sure if we can avoid this though, as i think this is information transfer being limited by the speed of light.
I think it's mainly our download/upload speed. Because if it's limited by the speed of light then it would still be practically instantaneous I believe. :)
Yeah what @ahdinosaur said. My point is to dialate the lag in connections to account for this. I know that it stems from an issue of connection speeds, that's not my point. My point was that I bet interconnect can find the amount of time that is lagging and account/accomidate/dialate/adjust to make more fluent conversations so that users don't try to speak at the same time.
Inspired from time dialation in EVE: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Time_Dilation So they implemented this and acheived sort of what I'm talking about.
