Possiblity to change email address #766

There is no way to change email address currently. This can come in handy, as email providers are subject to disappearance, bankruptcy, overtaking and a myriad of other things.

This wont happen. email address is binded to the digital identity and keys you create. If you had put the wrong email address, you are free to create a new identity ;)

@puria That strikes me as dangerous. The risk of an email provider going under is real (it has happened to me for one) and such situation would imply the user being at the mercy of whomever buys the domain name of their address.

I can see why it would be used to generate the keys, but at the same time i wonder why not replace the email with an additional question during onboarding process?

ps. i do understand that this might imply refactoring that is too heavy for this stage of the project.

It is worth maybe to create a page (maybe in the documentation) that explains what to do if your email changes (for any reason).

This would not imply that we will develop anything (not worth it, I would consider a rare case) but we will handle the changes manually, maybe by writing with proof and real identity documents that you own the past mail and the new one to security@dyne.org
