I'd say it depends a lot on the target application/use.

If you want to use it as a standalone board as well as a PCI Express card;

The form factor is very similar to the Lattice Versa board, so you might take a few design hints from there.

Also, SFPs are fine, but are added cost if anyone wants simply to connect to Ethernet. Having also a PHY and RJ45 with Ethernet would help people onboard faster.

Is this a HDMI connector for the ext. GPIO pins? I find this a rather strange choice so I wonder the rationale behind it.

having an OLED is fine, but inside the case it is likely unusable (if it's mounted on a tower case it will point downwards).

Holders added

Also, Power In, if not used from a PC enclosure, should not be constrained to PCIe only, I would put a barrel connector for power input.

Finally, there should be a separate USB connector for the onboard JTAG programming (meaning full onboard FTDI chip and micro-B or type C connector)

Added JTAG connector - FTDI should go on HAT >> opening issue on that one

Chip shortage is bad and we cannot be sure that we will get 1Gb chip. Also if chip is used one SerDes pair is lost. So I wil skip that for now.
